Cookie policy

Effective 12 October 2026. This page explains the small files and browser storage Helian may use on this informational website.

It describes the purpose, typical lifespan and choice available for each category. A cookie is not the same as an account and, by itself, does not tell us who a reader is. Browser settings may also limit or delete these values.

1. What cookies do

A cookie is a small value saved by a browser. It can remember a preference, support a session or help a site understand broad technical use. Helian does not use cookies to infer a medical condition, sell a profile or personalize health claims.

Cookies can be first-party, placed by Helian, or third-party, placed by a service loaded from another domain. They may be session cookies that expire when the browser closes or persistent cookies with a stated expiry. A reader can inspect and remove them through browser controls.

  • Essential values support delivery and basic security.
  • Optional measurement values are activated only after a recorded choice.
  • Preference values remember display choices without identifying a person by name.

2. Choice record

Our banner stores cookieChoice as accept or reject for up to 12 months. This value allows the banner to remain dismissed and does not identify you by name. Clearing browser storage removes the choice and the banner may appear again.

The value may be renewed when the choice expires or when the purposes materially change. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent access to articles, contact details or policy pages. If the banner does not work with an assistive technology, contact Helian and describe the browser and page.

3. Essential delivery

Hosting infrastructure may use short-lived session identifiers for secure delivery, traffic management or abuse prevention. Such values generally expire when a session closes or within 24 hours. Blocking them may affect ordinary site delivery.

Examples include a temporary request token, a security rate-limit value and a load-balancing preference. These values are not used to select advertising or infer a reader’s interests. Security records associated with delivery are normally reviewed and removed within 30 days.

4. Analytics

Helian currently limits analytics to aggregated, consent-based measurement where enabled. Before a provider is added, this page will identify its name, purpose, categories and retention. Rejecting optional cookies will not prevent reading editorial pages.

Measurement may record page path, approximate device type, referrer and broad visit timing. We will not intentionally combine those signals with a contact message for a reader profile. If an analytics partner is appointed, its name, transfer location and retention period will be added before activation.

5. Preferences

Preference storage may remember accessibility or display settings if such controls are introduced. Preference values should remain for no more than 12 months and are not combined with contact-form information for advertising.

A preference could remember a text-size setting or the state of a navigation panel. It should not store a message, password or sensitive health detail. You can reset preferences by clearing site data or contacting the editorial desk.

6. Third parties

Embedded services and linked websites may set their own cookies after you leave Helian. Their policies control those values. We avoid unnecessary embeds and will describe material third-party tools when they become part of the site.

Hosting, form delivery, security and measurement providers may process technical identifiers from another country. Contracts, access restrictions and provider notices are considered before a service is enabled. A link alone does not mean Helian can read the cookies placed by the destination.

7. Contact and revisions

Questions about cookies can be sent to Jalan Thamrin No. 88, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10310, Indonesia, or +62 21 7891 035. We normally acknowledge a question within 7 business days and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 calendar days.

Revision history: 12 October 2026, publication of this version. Future changes will state the effective date, added cookie name or category, purpose and lifespan. A material change will be presented before optional cookies are activated.

Typical first-party values include cookieChoice, which lasts up to 12 months; helian_session, which expires when the browsing session ends; and helian_preferences, which may last up to 6 months when a reader selects a display preference. Names can change if the hosting stack changes, but the purpose and category will remain the same in this notice. Helian does not use these values to build a named health profile.

Optional analytics, when enabled after consent, may use a privacy-conscious measurement identifier with a lifespan of up to 13 months and event records retained for up to 14 months. These records are aggregated to understand page performance, broken links and broad reading patterns. They are not used to infer a medical condition or to create advertising audiences based on sensitive topics.

Most browsers allow a reader to block third-party cookies, delete individual values, reject all optional storage or receive a notice before storage is written. Blocking essential session values can affect security controls or form delivery, but it should not prevent access to ordinary articles. Helian will not penalize a reader for rejecting optional cookies.

Some measurement or hosting infrastructure may process technical data outside Indonesia. Helian limits the fields shared, reviews the provider's safeguards and requires the provider to follow documented instructions. A reader may withdraw consent through the banner when available or by contacting Jalan Thamrin No. 88, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10310, Indonesia, at +62 21 7891 035.

We normally acknowledge cookie questions within 7 calendar days and answer within 30 calendar days. This policy was reviewed on 12 October 2026; a material change to a cookie's purpose, provider or lifespan will be reflected with a new review date and an updated choice request where appropriate.

Essential storage supports functions that a reader has requested, such as remembering a temporary session, protecting a form, or recording a cookie choice. These values are not intended to describe a reader's interests across unrelated websites. A session value normally expires when the browser session ends, while a consent record may remain for up to 12 months so the same choice is not requested on every visit.

Optional measurement, when enabled, is used to understand page loading, broken navigation and broad readership patterns. A typical analytics identifier may last up to 13 months and associated event information may be retained for up to 14 months. Helian reviews measurement settings periodically and avoids using optional analytics to infer sensitive personal characteristics.

Readers can delete stored values through their browser, block future storage, or change the choice made in the consent interface. Device settings differ, so the browser's own help material is the most accurate guide. Rejecting optional cookies does not remove access to editorial pages, although refusing essential session storage can affect a form or security feature.

Hosting, consent and measurement providers may process limited technical information outside Indonesia. Helian considers the provider's security controls, contracts and deletion practices before enabling a service. A provider cannot use the information for an unrelated purpose on Helian's instructions.

Questions may be sent to [email protected], Jalan Thamrin No. 88, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10310, Indonesia, or +62 21 7891 035. We normally acknowledge a request within 7 calendar days and respond within 30 calendar days. This notice was reviewed on 12 October 2026.
